Liam Byrne MP will today meet with Maura Mulligan, the new district housing manager for Hodge Hill to call for action on dealing with bad neighbours.
The Hodge Hill MP sought the meeting with the area’s new housing chief to explore options around throwing people out of their neighbourhoods for anti-social behaviour.
Liam said:
“Hodge Hill residents have long been sick of bad behaviour in their neighbourhoods. Anti-social behaviour is not right in the streets and it’s not right in and around the house next door. We need to make sure that nuisance neighbours are evicted as soon as it is apparent their behaviour is not going to improve.”
Liam has long-campaigned on anti-social behaviour issues and will use the meeting to push for a shorter time span between initial complaints and final eviction.
Liam added:
“When people make complaints about nuisance neighbours and anti-social behaviour, they expect action. What we need to see now is a quick, strict process that sees hard-working families listened to and bad behaviour punished.
