Liam Byrne met with Lois Smith and Richie Rana - the UK Youth Parliament representatives from his Hodge Hill constituency - at the first Regional Youth Conference today.
The Member of Parliament spoke on Climate Change and took questions from the floor from the 50 representatives from across Birmingham. Before leaving Liam pledged to reduce his personal carbon footprint by ensuring that all the electrical equipment in his home is turned off instead of being left on standby each night.
Liam said:
"I am proud to be working alongside the young people leading the way in Hodge Hill. Climate change affects us all, across every generation. We must all do our bit to combat the global challenges facing us today."
Lois and Richie also made personal pledges to reduce their carbon emissions as well as promising to continue spreading the message that small individual changes add up to a massive difference to worldwide emissions.
