Liam Byrne MP brought together local leaders and investors today to map millions of pounds of investment coming into the Hodge Hill area over the next few years.
The conference, held at The Pump in Shard End, is the next stage in the local MP’s Hodge Hill 2020 campaign to draw up a new blue print for what the constituency could look like in 2020. Liam’s community meetings have pinpointed sports, engineering, shopping and housing as priorities.
Liam has bought together representatives from the highest levels of the Learning Skills Council, Advantage West Midlands, Sport England, local schools, Primary Care Trusts, Police, council and government to identify gaps in investment before detailed planning starts to fill the gaps and transform Hodge Hill.
Liam said:
"Hodge Hill has been neglected for too long. Now millions are pouring in – bit we don’t want to see a penny wasted. We want to make sure spending is co-ordinated so it changes Hodge Hill for good.
"Our vision is simple. We want Hodge Hill to be the best place to live, work and play."
