Free Bulky Waste Collection

Have you got big bulky waste that needs taking away. If so, the council provide a bulky waste collection

If you have no more than six items or twenty black sacks to be collected there is no charge.

Liam opens appeal for fee free cash machine
 
Liam today launched an appeal for more fee free cash machines in the constituency.

The appeal comes as the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) launch a scheme to locate 300 fee free cash machines in constituencies across the country with poor access to fee free cash machines at the moment.

Liam Byrne, MP for Birmingham Hodge Hill will today meet with council road safety chiefs to demand they speed up plans to spend millions of pounds of Government money on improving road safety around the constituency.

Central Boss blames Galloway gaffs on Council inaction

Liam Byrne, MP for Birmingham Hodge Hill has discovered council gaffs are to blame for the delay in demolition of derelict homes on Galloway Avenue.

On 14th July, Liam received a response from Bob Taylor, Managing Director of Central Networks in which he told the Hodge Hill MP that his “disconnection team have been having difficulty in obtaining access to these properties via Birmingham City Council”.

UPDATE ON DISABLED PARKING CHARGES AT HEARTLANDS
 

Liam has now received a letter from the Facilities Manager at Heartlands outlining discounted benefits available for users.

Individuals in receipt of income related benefits including Jobseeker's Allowance, Income Support, Pension Credits, Council Tax Benefit, and Housing Benefit. In addition a further range of discounted multiple-day tickets for visitors making a series of visits for treatment or to visit relatives are available.

They can be puprchased from the parking office and include 3 and 7 day tickets avalable at £7.00 and £13.00 respectively. While 14 and 28 day tickets are available at £20.00 and £32.00 respectively - but they must be at the request of the ward or department being visited.

There is also a Carnet ticket for £26.00 which allows 20 visits of any duration within a 90 day period.

While we continue our campaign to get the charges over turned, please make sure that you and any friends you know make use of these discounted rates.
