Primary age students from across Hodge Hill have responded to a questionnaire issued by Liam and told him what they want to see different in the constituency over the coming years.
The Hodge Hill MP asked children what they wanted to see more and less of in their community as part of his big conversation with residents to find out how they wanted the area to change by 2020.
Young residents wanted to see more parks and green areas to play, with an increase in sports facilities. There was also support for more after-school activities, offering the chance for young people to join clubs and learn new skills.
The young people wanted to see less crime, theft, violence and gangs and less rubbish and graffiti.
Liam said:
‘Young people are worried by the same issues as their parents and grandparents. New neighbourhood police teams have helped bring crime down by 13% in the area over the last two years. Now I am campaigning for more sports facilities in the area to help our young people stay healthy and active."
The questionnaires were filled in as part of Liam's Hodge Hill 2020 regeneration campaign. They will be kept in a time capsule at the House of Commons until the year 2020.
Young people also drew pictures of what they wanted to be working as in 2020 - a large percentage wanted to be police officers and teachers with answer as far ranging as racing car drivers and babysitters.
