Hodge Hill 2020 is a vision led by Liam to transform the area and tackle problems such as high unemployment.
To take action, Liam pioneered a government and district-sponsored programme to create a community vision for the future of our district. A high level planning group then turned our ideas into four exciting proposals for clusters that would make Hodge Hill a destination of choice;
• in housing
• in retail
• as a sports village
• in advanced engineering

On Friday 15th February 2008, 25 leading stakeholders from industries as diverse as business, education, local and national government, regeneration, health and care met to map out the investments and plans we know are coming in Hodge Hill in the months and years ahead, in order to: • Re-enthuse partners about the vision
• Clarify plans, ideas and investments we know are planned, together with time frames
• Agree who will lead on which projects, what the timetables are and what the next steps are
• Identify requirements for outside help
This was followed by the start of a big conversation amongst residents about the future of Hodge Hillis begun at Liam's HH2020 launch at Cloverlea Hall playscheme, where local children wrote up what they want to be in 2020. The ideas will be placed in a time capsule with others completed by primary school children to be kept safe at the House of Commons.
